Gas station explosion in Accra Ghana 150 people dead.

Ghana- Gas station explosion kills 150 people in Ghana. A huge gas station explosion and flooding in Ghana's capital "Accra" has more than doubled to 150 people confirm dead in the gas station explosion on Thursday 4th of June 2015. Dozens of people had sought shelter at the gas station and in nearby shops in central Accra to escape the torrential rains at the time of Wednesday night's blast. Flooding swept fuel being stored at the station into a nearby fire, triggering the explosion that also set ablaze neighboring buildings that night.
The West African nation will observe three days of mourning with flags flying at half-staff, and the government will allocate about $12 million for relief operations and to repair damaged infrastructure. The incidents expose the weakness of Accra's infrastructure which has failed to keep pace with population growth after years of rapid economic expansion. It is vulnerable to storms that wreak havoc as poor drainage leads to flooding.
