The United state president Barack Obama approves more 450 troops to Iraq

The United state president Barack Obama approved the deployment of 450 more US military trainers to Iraq, a cautious bid to reverse gains by the Islamic State group in Iraq. The U.S forces will join an already 3,100-strong mission to "train, advise and assist" the Iraqi army as well as Sunni tribal fighters.
Islamic State seized the predominately Sunni city near Baghdad in May, punching a giant hole in Obama's strategy to "defeat and degrade" the jihadist group. Obama has ruled out putting combat troops on the ground, fearing it may re-entangle US forces in a war he fought hard to end. Instead his administration has offered air support, arms and training to an amalgam of disparate Iraqi forces. The US National Security Council said it was now "considering a range of options to accelerate the training and equipping of Iraqi security forces. Sending more US trainers may ultimately helpto build a new Iraqi military but for many analysts the problem remains: The US strategy is not so much incomplete, as President Obama admits, And he made it clear that in his view Iraqi troops could fight and win, but they needed toknow that the US and its allies "had their back", ie, that air power support was just a call away.
