27 dead as suicide bomber hits Nortern Nigeria


Nigeria- suicide bomber kill 25 people and 32 injured, in Zaria northern Nigeria, and the attack is likely to be on Boko Haram. The explosion occurred at about 9:00 am (0800 GMT), as primary school teachers and public sector workers were queueing for identity checks, in sabon Gari LG (local government district).
Zaria, a mainly Muslim city some 75 kilometres (47 miles) north of the state capitalKaduna city, is near the border with Katsina and Kano states.
The bomb is suspected to have been planted by a suicide bomber shortly after a speech by the newly appointed caretaker committee chairman and local government staff attending a screening exercise.
