Nigeria music icon fela was recognised by the US congress, The Afro beat singer Fela was described in the awarded certificate signed by Houston’s congress member,Sheila Jackson, as  the pioneer of the Afro beat music genre, paving the way for those to come after him in years to come.
The late Afro beat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti was last night awarded via his family, a Certificate of Congressional Recognition from the US. This award was given to the late musician for being the pioneer of the Afro beat music genre and deserving of the respect, admiration and commendation of the United States Congress
